Rebuilt after being torched by the British during the Revolutionary War, this thriving town now comprises a bustling downtown, a broad smattering of restaurants and shops along lively streets, five scenic beaches and the quaint village of Southport with its picturesque harbor and sailing club. Fairfield is also home to two universities: Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University. Filled with treasured traces of its Colonial past, cultural venues, marinas, parks, two public golf courses and every fine dining and shopping location you can dream of, there is always something to adore, see, and do in Fairfield.

Quck Center for the Arts and Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts frequently host events for the community that inspire creativity and expand the mind. There is also a SportsPlex, a fantastic place for kids and adults alike; the campus of unique athletic and recreational facilities offers a variety of activities for all ages, including ice skating, rock climbing, fencing, and more. For peaceful trails and scenic views, head to Lake Mohegan and enjoy an afternoon in the natural open space consisting of 170.4 acres. Have a spa day at Delamar Hotel or blow off some steam at Equinox Gym. The Warehouse at the Fairfield Theater Company is a cool classic-industrial venue that hosts many plays, programs, concerts, and other events throughout the year. Speaking of concerts, visit The Sherman Green Gazebo for its summer concert series. Another wonderful seasonal event is the Dogwood Festival, hosted in the historic Greenfield Hill area of town.
