In Downtown Darien, you’ll also find Scena Wine Bar and Restaurant, an Italian restaurant featuring a full bar facing a wood-burning brick oven, all in a sophisticated and cozy dining environment. The Goose is a classy-cool tavern and bistro with a comforting fireplace, glittering skylights, and a 19th-century bar serving upscale comfort food. For all your groceries wants and needs, have fun shopping around at Palmer’s Market, the local one-stop-shop for cooking ingredients, prepared foods, flowers, gifts, desserts, and more! In addition to all of the restaurants and shops, there’s a list of relaxing and upbeat things to do in Darien. Calling all beach lovers: Weed Beach and Pear Tree Point Beach make up part of the 16.5 miles of coastline in Darien, where beautiful peninsulas jut in and out of the Long Island Sound. At Woodland Park and Tilley Pond Park, you can set off on wooded trails, ponder by the ponds and stream, or explore exhibits on wildlife and habitats. Get active and social at Darien Boat Club, Noroton Yacht Club, or Tokeneke Beach & Tennis Club, depending on what activity you like to do or what hobby you’ve been thinking about picking up! Bookworms can get lost in the state-of-the-art Darien Library. Annually, the Weed Beach Fest Clam Bake is a treat for the whole community. The mouthwatering fresh clam bake takes place right on the beach and is a local favorite!
